I have been studying art since I was 12, this is when I first began drawing portraits. My love of art led me to the College Fine Arts at Arizona State University. It was there that my skills began to take shape through many years of studying the Master Impressionists and Georgia O’Keefe. Those artists have influenced much of my painting style. My style through the years is ever evolving and has become a contemporary, expressionist approach which I am enjoying.
I have explored many art mediums over the years, beginning with graphite and color pencil, to pastel painting, photography, and now working in acrylics. After a 30-year career as a graphic designer, I am inspired to find ways of using my multiple talents in current original paintings.
As I step into the 2nd chapter of my creative life, my intention as an artist is to create art with a message; art that inspires and is uplifting; art that brings hope, light and joy back into the world. Art that helps us all to exhale the past, and breathe in all the beauty we are surrounded by.
